It was 8 o clock in the morning. I was running to catch the train. The people standing next to me said " let it go". Before I could see who was saying this, the train gained speed. No way I am going to catch this train. "Damn not again". I said to myself. Next train was only after 1 hour.

I bought a news paper and sat down in the waiting bench. Though I was trying to focus on the negative stories like market crash, see saw trade, 'will India be downgraded too?'etc. , I couldn't ignore a group of 5 people standing next to me. The group had 4 girls and a guy wearing blue t-shirt. They were all teenagers. Not sure what the conversation was about, but they all seemed happy.

Then came a girl with train tickets in her hand. She was pretty. The smile in her face will remain in my mind for a long time. Let me name her so it will be easy to differentiate her. "Smiley". :-) . Smiley walked into the group and handed over the tickets to other girls in the group. Then she went to the guy in Blue t-shirt and started a conversation. He couldn't look into her eyes while talking to her. She couldn't take her eyes away from him.

The guy in blue T shirt was able to look at everyone else in the group while talking to them but not at "smiley" while smiley looked only at him irrespective of whoever she was talking to in the group. :-). This doesn't mean that the girl alone liked him. I found out that the feelings were the same as they boarded the same train, same compartment. The way they expressed themselves to each other was completely different. We all have different means of expressing our feelings. If you are smart enough you will enjoy the happy moment. If you are a dumb guy or a girl, you will get frustrated thinking that your feelings are not reciprocated.

"Coming soon" tag for this story was there in Pandoras Box for a while. At last I have found some time to write it. Before that let me give some updates about 2008-10 batch people.

Latest - Deepti Thomas is getting married soon. You will get her invitation in groups soon.(Hope so). Christoper's wedding is on 19th Jan 2011.(Just checked in groups). Christoper has arranged for a huge party for all the visiting people from our batch.(Star hotel accommodation and a free Thailand trip for all the non married couples who are attending the wedding). ;) 

Cini is also getting married soon in Ernakulam. Vivek Thomas, Janet,Deepti and Rajiv are the potential candidates to attend her wedding from our batch.

Virgin Mobile loses its virginity as it is taken over by Tata. Ravi and Asit are working for 'Tata' now. Ravi got engaged. He will soon lose.............

Gossip Factory: (May or May not be true)
Shocking news from Delhi, the Asha Niwas trio were not allowed to enter "Hard rock Cafe" because they are too old to enter the place. Apparently one of the member was wearing a monkey cap to a pub which showed the trio much more older than they really are.  

The two PJ couples of our batch had a great experience in some good locations in Karnataka during the new year eve.

Indo-Srilankan Pair are all set for the wedding in the beautiful Island.

For one of the Tata employees picking up "Female Models" is a part of his job. How cool it sounds isn't it. But of course for ad films and not for any other purposes.

Real incident:

It was a sunny day..some say everyday in Chennai is sunny and few say there is only one season in chennai.."Summer". Leave all this thoughts for now. Let me go to the story. So the story..wait...this is not a story but a real incident.

Even I have been trying hard to find time to write this story. Finally... before starting the story let me give a one liner about the "Illusion-al love story". "Time pass love comes true - You wish". You don't seem to understand anything out of this one liner right..So please read the story now.

The name of the protagonist is Bandeep. The lead female is Benjali. What happened between them?
It was the first day of 2008-10 LIBA batch in college.Many were trying to get to know few of their bath mates. Some wanted to get stuff for their rooms(Hostelers). Some were trying to find whether some hot gals/guys have joined in the batch. But Bandeep was trying to get only one thing. Girl friend. It looked like he has come from some boys college and was so excited to see girls in the campus.

In few modern love stories you will find social networking sites playing a vital part in their initial phases. Same happened in this case. Bandeep joined a 2008-10 LIBA batch group in a social networking site. He was closely watching all the new members in the group. Finally after much of research and tough rounds of short listing he short listed few profiles. Quickly he noted down all the names. He wanted to put signature campaign to of some good use to get to know these people. "Ting"---> (Considered to be innovation if you are part of the any corporate group.) 

Hold on---"Doubt".....What is signature campaign in LIBA? Some believe that it is a modified version of ragging.(Not ragging) Ragging is banned in campus. But not signature campaign. The objective of signature campaign is to get maximum signatures from the seniors by doing all the tasks that they gave. Innovation. :). Truth is that it is a very effective tool to get to know all the seniors in a short span of time. I believe all LIBAites are matured enough to use it in right way.

Lets get back to the story. So Bandeep decided to use this signature campaign to get to the know all the short listed candidates. Both seniors and batch mates were part of the list. First he wanted to target low hanging fruit. Seniors. Signature campaign gives an opportunity to talk to any senior. He approached all the seniors in the list. None fitted his criteria. Criteria?

Ya the eligibility criteria he had was:
1. Candidate should be a girl and should also sound like a girl. ;)
2. She should speak one of the language he can understand/Speak.( He knows five languages)
3.  Pretty or not, she should stick with him like a leech for at least next two years. (This is not in his criteria though. I just made up.)
4. As first and second criteria mentioned above fits most of the girls in the campus the only main criteria is that she should accept his proposal to be girl friend when he proposed.

This means that he really wasn't looking at anything other than some girl to roam around with. He wanted to boast of to his friends that he has a girl friend. Cool guy image in campus is all he was thinking.

Thought to Ponder on:
Guys and girls if you have a boy friend/Girl friend who socializes a lot find out whether you are a "show piece" for him/her.


No luck for him as all his proposal was rejected by senior girls as it was considered as a task and not a real expression of a desperate guy. In other words he hasn't found his victim yet.

Convocation + Renu's Wedding + Facebook Controversy

Story:
Convocation

It was 14th morning and I reached LIBA  campus around 10 a.m. I couldn't see many people in the campus. I got down from Anish's bike and saw the love birds walking opposite to us. Indo-lanka pair walked towards us(me and anish) and said 'Hi'. Before replying the Indo-lankan pair asked Anish can I have your bike? The two birds flew some were in the bike. Then I slowly entered the canteen. There I saw few familiar faces. Juniors. I was happy to see them again. After all the 'how are you? Where r u?' conversations I met Alister who reminded me to collect   the library deposit amount. We both went and collected the money.

When I came back many other 2008-10 batch people  had gathered there. After Chatting with few of them I took 'Saint's bike and went to the hotel where I was staying. I came back around two o clock. Oh! I saw the head office staff standing in the way to the convocation hall and showing the watch to me(Why u  didn't come 5 minutes earlier?). I was telling myself "Even today?". But that was nothing when compared with what happened after that. As I took my seat I saw few others batch mates which include ma[But Papa got his Award..What a surprise ;) ], Jka, bhada bhaiya and few others tried to get in and was stopped by "Strict Prof". "Strict Prof" said to those who came late.."What is the time? No no no...I can't allow you guys to get your degree certificates on the stage. Those students weren't allowed to enter the hall. :( What the heck?..Few parents who came to see their children get a degree were denied that opportunity in the name of discipline...Now if college people call them saying "Alumi" I am sure all they will hear is abuses. These students are the face of LIBA and treating them this way is not going to help LIBA in future.

Otherwise the function went on fine. Convocation Address was by "N.Chandrasekaran", CEO & MD of TCS. Everything was planned and function ended without long speeches. Thank God. Lizette did the M.C.  "Subbu" was named the best outgoing student of the batch and Thejas grabbed the topper award. Renu, Khusbhoo, Karthikeyan, Surjith , Boniface,Rini, Venkat, John Paulose and few others got awards for their achievements.

After the function many people who came for convocation went to Mahabalipuram and enjoyed the night. Few of them passed out even before the party started.:) This include Consi_ girl and the architect boy. Some were sharing their sorrows and some were discussing some serious stuff during the gathering. A new "Babe" was discovered during the Mahabalipuram trip. The 'dancing pro' from TCS wanted to be called "Babe" from now on.
NEWS:
Renu's Wedding:
I was lucky to go for Renu's wedding reception. It happened in Le Royal Meridian. Five star hotel. Ufff...It was filled with Celebrities which include Stalin(Deputy Chief minister), Harris Jeyaraj, Prabhu, Senthil, Pakiyaraj, Nakeeran and many others...The wedding was one of the best I have ever seen.

Secret reporter has founded out about two other engagement which are going to happen this year. Both are HR girls . One HR girl is supposedly moving outside India after marriage.  Best Wishes to both of them.

Facebook Controversy:

Hunter is back in the news. This time for some strange reason. His comments in facebook about the LIBA's vital committee's activity had  made a huge controversy. Few current batch students who 'liked' his post are summoned by the Vital Committee. Don't know what is going to be the consequence of their action.

STORY:

This story involves a 'Major' and his troops. I am sure everyone knows who is called 'Major' in our batch.

It was the during the final days of 2008-10 batch in LIBA. Everyone wanted to make a year book for the batch. Few people like "The saint", "Dexter" and "No.7" took the responsibility of making the year book supported staff like "Hunter", "Bebo" etc. The idea to make a digit year book came up and most of them agreed to it. I should say that the team did a wonderful innovative yearbook. In the process of making this digital year book few interesting incident happened. 

Everyone was asked to write about their friends for the year book. Lot of them did. After submitting their testimonials about the batch people, Major and one of his troop requested the techincal crew(Dexter and co) to delete only one testimonial written to a girl. Technical committee refused to do so as they had almost reached the last phase of writing the content in DVD. This created a conflict and Major and his troops wanted their page deleted in the year book if that testimonail to the girl is not deleted. What was in that testimonial that created so much ruckus. According to one of our secret reporters, that testimonial had a indirect proposal of love. Was it written by Major or one of his troops? If it was written by one of his troops then why he wanted his testimonial also deleted? Who was the girl who got this testimonial? Questions remain unanswered. 

Major had and still has a huge reputation in our college and even I admire his intellectual capability and maturity. But in this issue what I heard was shocking. The major couldn't let it go. He was on a mission to delete his and one of his troops page in the year book. Dexter and even "The saint" opposed this idea firmly. I think in the mission "Delete Pages" major did not anticipate resistance from "The Saint". Even it was suprise for many how "The Saint" stood firmly against the man of that stature. It looked like Major is going to lose in this mission. But he did not give up the fight yet. He kept insisting and finally they all reached a common ground. The technical crew after serious discussion and war of words decided to publish major's and his troop's troops profile alone without posting any of their testimonials.

News:

2008-10 batch convocation is on 14th August. Hope to see everyone there.

Somani entered into marriage agreement without announcing about this exiting news to the batch. 

It was surprising for many as guys(Somani,Silent Assasin & Bada Bhai) are getting married before girls in our batch. Congratulations to these guys for choosing a comparitively difficult life this early.  Sonal got engaged. She is in Goa and seriously looking for some friends there. All the best. There was also a news that first and best couple of the "Happily family" of our batch got engaged. Yet to confirm this news.

Our people working in Deloitte was given laptop and they are quite sad about it. This is because they are asked to work even on holidays apart from their regular working hours.

Johnny Boy joined Wipro in Bangalore and has invited all of us to visit him whenever we go to bangalore. PJ is in chennai and there is no news about her and her best friend.

Verzweifelt Verliebt got his posting in coimbatore and will be joining BoI in the begining of next month.

2008-10 batch vital committe asst. head got mumbai as his final location.[Home town itself].

Crazy laugher and Anish are going to be roomates in Hydrebad. Our CR who related with only seniors and juniors in 2 years has reportedly refused the proposal of crazy laugher to stay with him.

Ok this is enough...Will update more about who is where in the next post....too much info already....

Placement week - Awakening Day

The Placement week in the B-school came. Many students was asking the route to the library. :) I saw different expressions in different students faces. Toppers seemed tensed. Bottomers seemed a bit relaxed as they have some more time in hand before the interview. Our batch had to hear motivation/Scaring (Recession) speeches from the vital committee, Director and others. Strict rules. No crying in the campus. Rules couldn't help. As time passed by lot of students joined the "Crying club". This include toppers too. The professor who considers himself the marketing genius next to Kotler told us that all you need is confidence to get a job. I was wondering if he had told that earlier I could have sat relaxed in his classes like we did in most of other professors classes. For few students the worst part of not getting placed early is not losing offers from good company but the advice torture they get from the fellow students. Once these guys get a job their confidence level will be high and they will start giving lecture which is boring than the regular lectures. They will go to an extend of saying "You should have got better grades". I am sure grades are least important if you have the aptitude, attitude and confidence. Though I don't want to advice I would want our college students to note these things before making a choice of any company:

1. Profile ----> If some passed out senior is working get a brief description of the role which will definetly help

2. Take home salary ----> If you are worried about the package find out how much you will get in hand. Other components of the salary u might or might not get. So be careful

3. Growth opportunity ----> If you are planning to stay in a company for a while then know how quick you can move to the next level

4. If you are looking at any other thing in a company then be ready to find a job on your own. Other things you can't choose.

Though it is not an interesting story I thought it will be useful to our juniors after a while. Masala stories soon.

Dark Secret - New Year Special

It was a working day in school. After a tired day MJ, the Hero went into the woods along with his secret lover fellust(Married women) to catch some animal for dinner. After sometime they met at a place just outside the forest.Fellust,the woman from Bangalore (who had left his husband to be with MJ) had caught a wild rabbit and was having it in her hand. MJ was excited to see her as he got some food without doing any work or paying. Now fellust said " Oh dear! can we stay in cresent hotel tonight. I am tired." MJ was awaiting this and immediately nodded his head. Fellust handed over a basket filled with oranges and lemons which was a new year present for MJ. What did MJ gave in return for all this gifts? Did they stayed in the hotel together?

This is a story about a guy who lost his girl friend few months back.Let us call him "mesingleu?" That being a sad story let me not mention about that.(May be if my exclusive readers wants I will write that too. Comment if you want to know.) I will tell about his recent crush. Now that his true love has ditched him he has become more pragmatic.(Too late) He knows where his destiny lies. "Mesingleu?" is more skeptical about his lady love. Now that he is single and ready to mingle he has a few set of rules.

1. Decent looking.(Hmmm...Everyone wants this..so its ok.)
2. Should be single (Ya gr8..another obvious thing...no...no wait u have an option for hitting on committed people too. Who knows if she is part of despo gang you mi8 be lucky he he)
3. She should visit school more than she visits bangalore.( Strange rule isn't it. :) May be he has something in his mind)
4. Shouldn't ditch him for any reason.{ How is this possible? Its difficult for any girl to confirm this before starting the relationship. :) What if there are better option.? :) }
5. Wait.......................
Too many rules already..stop...If you lay any more rule you need to search a girl in another planet..he he

So after considering all this rules he still has found a girl suitable for his experiments before marriage(Being skeptical :) ). Let us name her "Amisingle?". Who is this girl "Amisingle" who visits bangalore frequently? What is the reason behind her visit. Is she really satisfying all the criteria? Is there something hero doesn't know? Did the hero ever tell his love?
